This seems to be the place to report bugs. .12 beta release:The clock is still running like mad (maybe a little bit slower.) The score count is moving backwards now. I started on 80% (done in a previous version) and now am at Zero !

We implemented a completely new algorithm for the scoring which is why the scoring is working different from the previous version. Soon we will publish the algorithm used.

Regarding the clock: This is still a big mystery. On hundreds of PCs it runs 100% synchronized with the system clock. We are discussing this issue with other java developers as we are unable to reproduce the error. We assume that it is hardware related but haven't found anything yet that is able to cause this issue.

If any other user is experiencing this problem please post it here and let us know:

  • Do you use a laptop or PC?
  • What is the speed of your CPU?
  • How much RAM do you have installed?
  • What graphics card are you using?
  • Anything else that you believe would help us to pinpoint a cause of the problem

Tried again. Suggestion:  Bug in clock starts after errors (sound + numbers crossed out) are made.

Hi Victor,

Thanks!! I just checked it and indeed, after making an error the clock starts to run faster.

Two week ago I was able to reproduce the error on one of my computers but after closing and opening the game I wasn't able to reproduce it again. I have one PC at the moment on which the clock runs approx 2 times faster (only sometimes) on startup. When I make an error it indeed starts to run much faster.

I think that you have provided a very usefull hint which helps us to resolve this issue finally. By the way check out http://www.flickr.com/sudokuball for some photographs of the PVC balls. I think we owe you a ball! I let you know when the PVC balls hit the market and arrange one for you.

Maybe also good to let you know that we are working on anothe Sumarai variant by which all sudokus have the same shape and by which the layout will look much cleaner.

Cheers, Marcel

Hi Victor,

I am terrible sorry for being quite.

Although it may not be obvious, we worked very hard on the ball over the last two month .....but also took 2 weeks of for a short Ski holiday in New Zealand Grin .

We are working on several fixes and also on the modelling and development of some major new and better versions.

We also spend time on the 10I version http://www.flickr.com/photos/sudokuball/951847017/ and on a better generator.

We already fixed a part of the clock problem but discovered some additional issues related to Java that have to be fixed as well. We haven't deployed these fixes yet to the live server but will hopefully do so early October. The new version will also enable the user to change their password and we also aim to be able to give balls different themes.

As of the beginning of October we will be communicating more and hopefully be publishing more.

Cheers, Marcel
